C'H'C'M New Arrivals: Monitaly

Feb 5, 2011

Clinton Hill Classic Menswear just received a few contemporary classics from Monitaly for spring & summer. The quality of fabric, design and construction in these garments is nearly unparalleled in the U.S.-made market. Founded in 1997, Monitaly is a California-based brand run by designer Yuki Matsuda who is also one of the founding members of Yuketen. The name comes from Yuki's three greatest loves or sources of inspiration; his daughter Monica, the utility of military issue garments, and the exceptionally high standards for which Italian clothing has come to be known.

The three pieces carried at C'H'C'M include the hooded field jacket, triple needle shirt, and camp short. In navy or sand, the hooded field jacket is probably the most versatile piece. Using two way zips, polished hardware, heavyweight cotton, and soft, pebbled tan leather; Yuki has designed a jacket that will truly stand the test of time. The same can be said of the camp shorts, which pair perfectly with the jackets thanks to similar details. Along with the triple needle shirts in black or navy linen and classic blue chambray, the collection this season seems to stand entirely in a league of its own.
