Mickey Drexler: Retail Therapist

Jun 14, 2010

— via WSJ

Mickey is the CEO and one of the few people responsible for turning around J.Crew, bringing them up to their current status in just seven years. The J.Crew of 2003 and 2010 are like night and day, and much of this is owed to Mickey and his savvy decision-making. The accompanying article details his previous failed exploits at the Gap and his semi-preppy upbringing in the same areas I've grown up. I often find it difficult not to draw comparisons to my role models, and Mickey went to a SUNY school and is just as passionate about good clothing and style as I am. There's over 6 pages of article to be read, so I won't bore you with a spotty synopsis, just go read it.
