Oak Street Bootmakers Fall / Winter 2010

Aug 31, 2010

Hailing from the western shores of Lake Michigan (Chicago to be exact) is newcomer Oak Street Bootmakers. I was only just turned on to the brand this morning by a post on Secret Forts and some pics and info that Ryan Plett posted and tweeted. The son of a cobbler, George Vlagos founded and designs for his brand. Chromexcel leather is sourced from the renowned Horween Leather Co. (also located in Chicago) and all footwear is handmade in Maine. The footwear sort of reminds me of Quoddy in many respects, and pricing is about the same. From the materials used in their construction, to the people behind the scenes, these handsewn boots and moccasins are some of the finest. Currently there's only seven styles available in the web shop, but more should be online later in the year.

Navy boat shoe, $210
Brown boat shoe, $210
Brown trail oxford, $220
Navy trail oxford, sold out
Navy vibram sole trail oxford, $236
Beefroll penny loafer, $250
Double sole penny loafer, $275

Those beef-role penny loafers (with the natural sole) are SHARP.

Things Is Cool

Totally agree with JRS. That penny is the business.
